Meet Amy Tincher

Hello there!

My name is Amy Tincher. I was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio and received a bachelor's degree in psychology at Northern Kentucky University. I am a proud momma to two little boys, a wife and dog mom. Growing up in the Midwest I had a love for the ocean but was pretty landlocked from the coast. This passion for the ocean took me to Florida in 2013 to follow my passion for dolphins and marine life. I was able to have my first career as a marine mammal trainer for 6 ½ years in St. Augustine, Florida at Marineland Dolphin Adventure. This is where I learned about operant conditioning with the focus of positive reinforcement training and how training and behavior modification is in everything in life!

My Story

Once my husband and I wanted to start a family the very difficult decision was made for me to find a new career path with more life balance. Once I found out I was pregnant with my first son I reached out to a few peers from the marine mammal field who had become instructors in ISR for advice. I knew with my love of water I wanted to ensure my son was going to have the skills to be safe in all situations. My husband and I decided to enroll our son when he was old enough!! The gift we gave to our son to save himself if the need presented itself is unmatched! Our son graduated as a floater at 10 months old. After this experience, I felt a calling to become an instructor as well to help other parents out there protect their children.

As of 2022, I am now a certified ISR Instructor!! I am so excited to offer families in Palm Coast, FL and the surrounding area the benefits of the most effective and safe Self-Rescue® program available and therefore provide a new level of safety to children in an area surrounded by water. Infant Swimming Resource is an extremely effective drowning prevention program that I am thrilled to take part in. This team of individuals has a strong mission to keep children safe in and around the water by equipping them to be aquatic problem-solvers. Children are so precious to us, and it is our job to be diligent in keeping them safe. I have been in each parents shoes when going through this program. I can relate to the commitment it takes to keep our kids as safe as ever. I look forward to working with each of your little ones and teaching them a love and respect for the water as well as very necessary swimming and self-rescue® skills!
